The administration of a number of cancer regimens is perfectly feasible at home. 5-fluorouracil has been successfully administered by patients or their carers for many years. The most common infusion options are either a continuous 7 day infusion or alternatively a 46 hour infusion (modified deGramont regimen). Both types of infusion can be easily accomplished using the Paragon™ infusion system. The 7 day infusion would typically use a 0.5mL/hr set whereas the 46 hour infusion would be achieved using a 3mL/hr set. For long infusions we recommend the use of Paragon™ sets with integral FlowView™ indicators; this gives an added level of assurance that the drug is flowing at the correct rate throughout the course of the infusion.

Paragon™ is also a suitable system to employ in administering VAD (Vincristine/Doxorubicin/Dexamethazone).

All these therapies can be supplied as ready-to-use infusions.

Drug stability data is available upon request.
